We will be using the grid method to help capture the foreshortening effect with whatever subject matter a student chooses. This site explains and shows how to grid an image http://www.art-is-fun.com/grid-method/ .
The week before our Spring break, we took a break from perspective and started to look ahead to working with brush and ink by creating Chinese brush paintings of bamboo plants and pandas.
Students are finishing their 3 pt projects. Some followed the project from refrigeratorgood site, listed below.
2 pt projects: Students were able to choose the subject matter and materials.
Students have been working on their 2 pt perspective projects for the last two weeks. Thursday, 1/28, we will review perspective history, look into 3 pt perspective guidelines and practice them from a bird's eye view and a worm's eye view using this website http://www.explore-drawing-and-painting.com/3-point-perspective.html. We will finish the class by looking at examples for the next project - http://www.refrigeratorgood.com/2013/06/high-school-art-lesson-cardboard_6.html. On Friday, 1/29, students will be using chromes to begin to create an electronic portfolio of their work and project reflections through Google classroom. They will also be looking and printing out a three pt image that they will be using as a guide for the 3 pt project.
Looking ahead to Spring semester 2016 assignments - We will continue exploring perspective by drawing 2 pt., 3pt, and foreshortening projects.
